About Me
Kirsty Stewart is an Australian artist who has been painting and drawing for over 25 years.
Kirsty would best be described as a multi-disciplinary artist having also had success in the areas of photography, textiles and poetry. These days Kirsty is focussed on creating stunning acrylic and oil landscapes and seascapes. Her work is held in many private collections.
Engrossed in the complexity of nature Kirsty admits to being unnaturally obsessed with rocks, clouds and water, often infecting those around her with a similar enthusiasm.
Kirsty Stewart’s process deliberately sacrifices aspects of realism, in favour of highlighting key elements. These exaggerations lend an other-worldly, dreamlike feel to the landscape.
In some cases, realism is dispensed with entirely as the piece explores internal and surrealistic dreamscapes.
